BMC achieved a significant milestone this year by making its debut in the international university rankings that assess their impact on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) for 2023. Securing the 12th national position, demonstrating its dedication to achieving the Vision 2030 and UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The Times Higher Education (THE) University Impact Rankings is the leading global assessment of universities' progress towards the UN SDGs. Achieving these goals requires the collaboration of all efforts, knowledge, expertise, and resources, including those of universities and higher education institutions, working towards the SDGs by 2030.
This classification comprises 17 primary goals with various sub-criteria and indicators. It evaluates universities' influence in diverse areas. The fourth edition of the rankings, conducted in 2023, saw the participation of 1591 international universities showcasing their competitiveness and distinction globally.
BMC's performance was evaluated based on five goals and was on the top 10, resulting in the 6th national position for no poverty, the 5th position for promoting good health and well-being, the 9th position for ensuring quality education, and the 9th position for fostering gender equality.
The recognition reinforces BMC's commitment to sustainable development and its vital role in shaping a better future, and is a testament to its vision and contribution towards a sustainable and inclusive world.
