Batterjee Medical College Concludes the Digital Health Hackathon 2026 in Jeddah

Batterjee Medical College for Sciences and Technology successfully concluded the Digital Health Hackathon 2026, held from January 17 to 18, 2026, in Jeddah. The event brought together talented students and innovators from across the Kingdom and was organized in strategic partnership with the Council of Health Insurance (CHI) and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), supporting Saudi Arabia’s digital health transformation and the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The hackathon witnessed strong national engagement, with 209 teams applying from 30 universities across the Kingdom. Following a rigorous evaluation process, 30 teams were shortlisted to compete in the final stage, reflecting the high quality and competitiveness of the submitted ideas.

The event combined healthcare innovation with technological empowerment, enabling participants to explore advanced domains including medical artificial intelligence, health data analytics, personalized medicine, cybersecurity, and blockchain technologies. Over the course of an intensive 48-hour innovation sprint, teams developed prototype digital solutions addressing real-world healthcare challenges.

Closing Ceremony and Winners Announcement

The closing ceremony was marked by strong engagement and wide recognition from the judging panel, which praised the exceptional quality of the projects presented. Due to the very close scoring among competing teams, the judges decided to introduce fourth and fifth place awards, in addition to the top three positions.
