Respiratory Therapy is a health care discipline that specializes in the promotion of optimum cardiopulmonary function, health, and wellness. Respiratory Therapists employ scientific principles to diagnose, treat and prevent acute or chronic dysfunction of the cardiopulmonary system, such as asthma, COPD (emphysema, chronic bronchitis) lung tumors, Neonatal and pediatric abnormalities, sleep disorders, and other disease and dysfunctions. Respiratory Therapists use a variety of high-tech equipment and techniques to diagnoses monitor and treat respiratory conditions.

The Program offers a wide range of courses including, Respiratory Therapy, hospital training, and research practice. We expect our students to perform at a high academic level, and for our graduates to go well beyond being significant contributors. We expect each, in his or her way, to become a leader in our field. In our department, we all work as a team with one goal; to guide our students to achieve a successful career as a health care provider and a productive community member.
