Brief Description
The World Occupational Therapy (OT) day is one of the main events in the OT department, as it aims to raise the general awareness of OT as an essential part of such emerging profession. The World Federation of OT (WFOT) has set annual themes for this day, and this year's theme was an initiative entitled: "Unity through community". The event was held in AlYasmin mall on the October 27, 2023. Following the WFOT's annual theme, the aim to represent the different areas in which an OT practitioner works and promote the effect of OT in the community in all these settings. Fortunately, the event has shown great success in the number of audience with an approximate number of 400 visitors. The event consisted of 5 areas/stations that represent the OT settings (introduction, Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Home and community based, psychiatric), each to be represented with a roll-up design that represents the setting. Also, some stations used designed cubes as tables to showcase related equipment, booklets and technologies. Two stands with screens were set at the entrance and exit that included a video of the OT roles and definition to build a thorough understanding in the minds of the audience.
