Alhemam Disability Center Visit

Provide comprehensive education on oral hygiene, prevention, and treatment of dental issues.
Conduct oral health assessments, identifying immediate dental care needs, contributing to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being).
Provide entertainment and activities, fostering a positive and engaging environment for persons with disabilities, supporting SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
Oral Health Education: Provide oral health education to orphanage residents, emphasizing proper brushing techniques, regular dental check-ups, and the importance of a balanced diet for dental health. 
Preventive Measures: Illustrate and explain preventive measures through dental screenings and distribution of oral hygiene kits, aiming to reduce the prevalence of oral health issues among orphanage residents. 
Nutrition Education: Integrate nutrition education into the program, highlighting the connection between a healthy diet and oral health. 
Monitoring and Follow-up: Monitor participants' oral health progress, ensuring timely intervention and follow-up care. The participants have their regular checkup weekly with their assigned dentist from the orphanage

Outcomes
Conducted comprehensive oral health assessments identified immediate dental care needs for the 28 disabled individuals.
Enhanced knowledge and awareness of the importance of regular dental check-ups and proper oral care, leading to improved daily oral hygiene routines.
Provided entertainment and activities, fostering a positive and engaging environment for persons with disabilities, supporting SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
Increased Oral Health Awareness: Orphanage residents will have an improved understanding of oral health practices, leading to increased awareness and adherence to proper dental care. 
Preventive Measures Implemented: The distribution of oral hygiene kits, brochure, oral presentation and dental screenings will contribute to the implementation of preventive measures, reducing the occurrence of oral health issues. 
Improved Nutrition Habits: The integration of nutrition education will lead to improved dietary habits among orphanage residents, positively impacting their oral and overall health. 
Regular Monitoring and Care: The establishment of a system for monitoring oral health progress will ensure timely intervention and follow-up care, promoting sustained oral health improvement among participants. 

Brief Description
In alignment with Sustainable development goals SDG10: Reduced Inequalities, the Dentistry Social Responsibility committee organized a visit to Alhemam Disability Center.  The visit was divided into three key parts. The first part featured an oral presentation covering introductions, oral hygiene instructions, awareness, and information on the prevention and treatment of the special healthcare needs of caregivers, disabled individuals, and their aids. The second part focused on conducting oral assessments for 28 disabled individuals. Lastly, the third part provided entertainment for individuals with disability, creating a well-rounded and informative experience for everyone involved
